Abstract

GABALAN-COELLO, Jesús  and  VASQUEZ-RIZO, Fredy Eduardo. Professor Quality Assessed by Student Engineers. Rev. Cubana Edu. Superior [online]. 2020, vol.39, n.1  Epub Apr 01, 2020. ISSN 0257-4314.

This paper deals with how student engineers at a Colombian private university assess their professors. They described their ideas of a “perfect” professor, and identified major challenges to be faced by the academic personnel. The study was conducted by taking into account major variables of assessing professors: performance, commitment, mastery, methodology, evaluation, and interpersonal relationships. For its design, engineering subjects were grouped over the last three years, and a survey was made by the use of a questionnaire. Binary logistic regression was used to predict whether or not professors were of the standard set up and established by the institution.

Keywords : quality education; education; assessment.
