Abstract

A retrospective study of patients with emergency conditions seen at the Acupuncture Service of "Comandante Pinares" general teaching hospital in San Cristóbal, Pinar del Rio province from January to December, 2001, was conducted. This technique was applied in 2 075 patients. The main treated diseases were sacrolumbalgia and blood hypertension in 444 and 425 cases, respectively. A saving of 6 192 injected drugs and 850 tablets accounted for $1973,35 pesos
