Abstract

A descriptive study was conducted with a sample of 20 mothers with children aged 0-4 that visited the pediatrician or gynecologist's office at the "26 de Julio" Polyclinic and at the "Playa" Teaching Polyclinic in April, 1998. These patients were interviewed and a questionnaire was applied to obtain the necessary information. It was observed a high percentage of mothers that did not have an adequate knowledge either on sexuality in general or on infantile sexuality. They also had inappropiate gender approaches as regards the formation of sexual values since childhood.
