Abstract

LEON MENDEZ, Alcides Juan; HERNANDEZ GONZALEZ, Arturo; GARRIDO MONAGAS, Maray  and  ANDALIA GILBERT, Arlex Israel. Rainfall reception with bucket raingauge and its post-processing. RIHA [online]. 2013, vol.34, n.2, pp.73-87. ISSN 1680-0338.

A pluviograph type raingauge is designed to determine rainfall intensity during long periods of time. The technological development of the pluviograph has been advancing and today different pluviograph models include advances in electronics and computer science for the reception, storage and postprocessing of rainfall intensity data. The characteristics of the rainfall reception and postprocessing of the stored data are presented in this article for a model of automated Cuban raingauge developed in the Hydraulics Research Center (CIH). Results and conclusions of the work are applicable to the new generation of bucket raingauges using the same bascule system to measure rainfall intensity.

Keywords : rainfall intensity; bucket raingauge.
