Abstract

DOMINGOS DA SILVA, Divaldo; ESCARTIN SAULED, Emilio Ricardo  and  JIMENEZ SAEZ, Gerardo Crescencio. Building the digital elevation model of an urban zone for hydrological simulation. RIHA [online]. 2014, vol.35, n.2, pp. 123-137. ISSN 1680-0338.

The applied procedure and the achieved results in building a digital elevation model (DEM) corresponding to Marzal neighborhood, Luanda, Angola, according to the requirements of hydrological modeling for the study of hydrological processes in an urban environment are presented and discussed in this paper. The data used came from different sources and scales. Data from the Director Plan, detailed surveying, topographic maps with a scale of 1:25000, and satellite images were employed. The adequate (DEM) for hydrological simulation was created using spatial modeling tools from Geomatics domain.

Keywords : Digital elevationmodel; urbanhydrological model; Luanda; flat relief.
