PEREZ QUINTERO, Fernando; GUARDIA PUEBLAS, Yans  and  RODRIGUEZ PEREZ, Suyén. Phytoremediation for the treatment of swimming pool water. riha [online]. 2017, vol.38, n.3, pp. 101-113. ISSN 1680-0338.

The biological methods of phytoremediation or bioremediation have been widely applied in the treatment of waters for swimming pools, whether they are recreation pools or sports ones. The most employed method of phytoremediation of swimming pools (biopool) waters is the artificial wetland, mainly the vertical flow type. In this work the evaluation of an artificial wetland of vertical flow sown with TyphaDomingensis vegetal plant, for the treatment of pool waters at a laboratoryscale for the weather conditions in the city of Santiago de Cuba. In order to evaluate the real effect of the vegetal plant a parallel system without vegetal plant is used.

Keywords : phytoremediation; artificial wetlands; biopool.
