Abstract

PARDO-GOMEZ, Rafael. Energy dissipation - part IV: slotted and solid bucket. riha [online]. 2019, vol.40, n.1, pp. 84-94. ISSN 1680-0338.

The present article is the fourth of a series of seven, all relative to energy dissipators that can be used in hydraulic works. The whole group of these articles conform a monograph about the subject that was prepared by the author, concluding it by the middle of the 2017 year and later on incorporating it into a new edition - in preparation - of the textbook "Spillways and Intake Structures.". This fourth article is a detailed presentation about the bucket in its two versions, the slloted and the solid one, which have wide use fundamentally in those spillways where the discharge is affected by high levels of water.

Keywords : solid bucket; slotted bucket; diving flow condition; minimum tail water limit; maximum tail water limit; bucket radius.
