Abstract

This work presents some considerations of foreign and national authors on the challenges of education in general and of higher education in particular. It also offers the ideas of different authors in relation to the problem. According to the conditions of the current world, of the abysmal differences between the developed north and the countries of the south or underdeveloped, the impact of science and technology; the demands of production and services in the new century bring about that society imposes new demands to education as a subsystem. Consequently, the new paradigm of education in the XXI century is investigated, its real possibilities of forming competent professionals, able to confront the new reality. For all that has been said, Higher Education has unavoidable challenges, from which financing, and interaction with the managerial world, international exchange and the formation and invigoration of human values stand out
