Abstract

ZALAMEA LEON, Esteban  and  GARCIA ALVARADO, Rodrigo. Integrated architectural design of active solar thermal collector at dwelling´s roofs. Arquitectura y Urbanismo [online]. 2014, vol.35, n.3, pp. 18-36. ISSN 1815-5898.

Alternative architectural design and calculation of power systems are usually separate tasks, which results in that the facilities in buildings overlap and affect its architectural appearance. With the aim of review an integrated platform of architectural design and energy analysis, this work analysis implementation of thermal solar systems for single housing in Concepción, Chile. A residential model is assessed in BIM software with an energy calculator incorporated; based on parameters to size the systems, slope of roofs and orientation of construction. After that, the design of the installation is developed according to the architectural configuration and spatial visualization. Besides passive strategies and economic savings are suggested. The experience showed that the platform can determine proper characteristics of thermal system, and raise a facility integrated into the architectural design of housing.

Keywords : solar energy; integrated design; energy simulation; sustainable housing; BIM.
