Abstract

GARCIA VAZQUEZ, Erik  and  GONZALEZ SANTOS, Ana Isabel. Energy efficient lighting solution for sustainable housing. Energética [online]. 2020, vol.41, n.2  Epub Aug 31, 2020. ISSN 1815-5901.

Sustainable architecture is a way of conceiving architectural design in a sustainable way and has as its principle the reduction of energy consumption. The use of home automation is also essential to achieve this purpose of energy saving while also offering comfort to its customers. A lighting control system dependent on natural lighting as a viable solution for sustainable home is presented in this article. The practical theoretical research was carried out in two stages. During the first stage, the system was simulated in the MATLAB® Simulink® program, showing how the desired lighting is archived and the control of total lighting. In the second stage, the practical implementation of the system was carried out through the Arduino® platform. The results obtained were validated from the energy point of view with the practical use of designed real system.

Keywords : sustainability; home automation; illumination; Arduino®; energy efficiency.
