Abstract

The present article tries to motivate the pedagogical analysis related to interculturality as a reality in the Ecuadorian educational system; as well as with significant learning, which becomes especially relevant in basic education given the cultural diversity that characterizes it. Points of view about the role of teachers and the challenges to face in this context are socialized; precisions related to intercultural educational and curricular strategies are offered that facilitate the formation of skills, qualities and values. The assumed methodology focuses on qualitative research, using methods and techniques such as hermeneutics, content analysis, and critical review of bibliographic sources. As results, reflections on the matter in question can be obtained, which can be taken into consideration in the analyzes and discussions of the basic education teaching groups to improve the quality of educational practices.
