Abstract

The objective of this research study was to determine the influence of the application of the conceptual mapping technique on the reading comprehension of the students of the V cycle of the I.E. Nº 50168 of Ccachín. This project belongs to the experimental type and the method was quasi-experimental. The population was made up of the children of the V cycle with a total of 30. For the processing of the data, the computerized program SPSS version 21 in Spanish was used, with which the data matrix was obtained and for the analysis and interpretation of the data Descriptive statistics and parametric inferential statistics of t-student were used. The results obtained after applying the technique of conceptual maps, in relation to reading comprehension, was that the students of the experimental group, 53.3% of students obtained level of reading comprehension and 46.7% level A. There were no students in level AD and C, while the students in the control group who followed reading with the traditional method, 60.0% reached level B and 40.0% level C. In addition, there were also no students who reached levels AD and A for reading comprehension.
