Abstract

The didactic itineraries for the training of teachers based on the integral study of the geographical space, in real and virtual form, a scale: local, regional or global. It is presented as good practices, aligned with the challenges of Education for Sustainable Development and its roadmap, based on participatory, problematic and research methods for the development of professional skills, so that Geography can contribute to the comprehensive training of education professionals. The objective of this research is to perfect the training process. Following a qualitative methodology, the review of documents, the observation and the in-depth interview are assumed, as well as the methodological triangulation and the memos for the evaluation and assessment of the results. The sample is made up of twelve first- year students of the Bachelor´s Degree in Education. Geography, from the Faculty of Secondary Education, from the Central University Marta Abreu of the Villas in Cuba. The results were that it contributed to active and democratic participation, to their awareness of environmental problems, to the strengthening of values, to the development of professional skills on different forms of action in the study of space and its perception, it promoted research, the search for information, creativity, the promotion of the study of near and far space with the appropriate use of technology and the immediate environment as a means of teaching.
