Abstract

The present work is the result of a research project associated with the use of mathematical economic models for the basis of business planning. It is aimed at the application of optimization methods (linear programming) for scientifically reasoned selection of variant production plan (production budget in units) of the company. A series of general and specific research methods, among them mathematical economic methods and document analysis are applied in the development of research. As a main result the paper contributes, from the general theoretical formulation of the linear programming model, the specific theoretical formulation for this type of application in business planning and practice validation in the case study Strategic Business Unit Aluminum.
