Abstract

AUQUILLA BELEMA, Luis Armijo et al. The Role of Popular and Solidarity Finance Organizations in the Development of Local Enterprises in Ecuador. Case Study. Estudios del Desarrollo Social [online]. 2020, vol.8, n.3  Epub Dec 10, 2020. ISSN 2308-0132.

Popular and solidarity finance organizations emerged in Ecuador in 2011. In this paper we investigate whether they collaborate through financing with the development of the enterprises established in the rural parish of San José, canton of Santa Clara, province of Pastaza. The results reveal that the work in that community has not been efficient, since these institutions do not have sufficient monetary resources, except for the credit and savings cooperatives. As a result, local enterprises have not been able to develop.

Keywords : community development; adequate employment; poverty rate.
