Abstract

DOMINGUEZ CALVO, Odett; OLIVA FERNANDEZ, Liz; OLLER ALONSO, Martín  and  SOMOHANO FERNANDEZ, Abel. Students today, journalists tomorrow. Approach to the roles and ethical positions of Journalism students in Cuba when considering their future work performance. ARCIC [online]. 2018, vol.7, suppl.1, pp.61-86. ISSN 2411-9970.

This article proposes an approach to some elements that characterize the pre-professional culture of Journalism students in Cuba. The data correspond to the results of a survey applied to 383 -of the 466- students enrolled in this race during the 2015-2016 academic year. From this survey it is possible to foresee the professional roles and ethical behaviors that could govern the exercise of the profession in the coming years, according to the perceptions of those who constitute the future generation of journalists in this country.

Keywords : students of Journalism; Cuba; ethical guidelines; professional roles.
