Faced with a scenario in which digital platforms become more relevant for the communication of university heritage; content design is vital for digital projects to be able not only to exist, but above all, to achieve visibility. In this direction, the work aims to design the content of a digital platform for the communication of the symbols of the Universidad de Oriente based on its heritage. A total of 17 symbols were analyzed from the semiotic interpretation and the application of an organizational identity matrix. In addition, methods such as historical-logical and inductive-deductive and other scientific research techniques were used: bibliographic review and semi-structured interviews. In the study carried out, the symbols that the Oriental Alma Mater were characterized based on the historical memory and the methodological arguments of information architecture that allowed the development and application of the content design of a digital platform were systematized. The content design of the platform constitutes a tool for the application of heritage communication policies in the undergraduate and postgraduate training of the Universidad de Oriente and visibility in the context of International Relations
